MERPIRE – SIMULATION RIDE

“Across a flurry of neat indie pop jams, Merpire has a chilled but affecting sound, with an introspective side.” – CLASH Mag (UK)

From emotional rollercoasters to full immersive, indie-rock arrangements, Merpire is the musical brainchild of Riannon Atkinson-Howatt.

Conjuring magical moments in both the studio and on stage, Merpire and her predominantly female line-up have supported the likes of Julia Jacklin, Last Dinosaurs and Angie McMahon, as well as appearing at Bigsound, Meadow Music Festival & A Festival Called Panama.

Having released singles, ‘Lately’, ‘Habit’ & ‘Heavy Feeling’ independently alongside Fright Night Music, Merpire signed with ADA/Warner in 2021 to release singles ‘Dinosaur’ and ‘Village’ on the lead up to her debut album, ‘Simulation Ride’.

Merpire takes you through the rom-com and horror sections of her internal video store with ‘Simulation Ride’ – a musical diary entry into the workings and not-workings of her mind. It exists in hope of connecting fellow daydreamers with their own personal simulation ride.
